A Dream Come True Visiting the Bitossi Industrial Artistic Museum
We were planning on taking a trip to Italy in 2020 but of course, as most people's lives unfolded, things were cancelled and postponed. We finally were able to take our much anticipated trip to Europe in May of this year. There were many highlights in the six cities we managed to fit in 15 days. But one of the most memorable for me was a short trip outside of central Florence to Montelupo to visit the Bitossi Industrial Artistic Museum.
I've revered the work that Bitossi has produced in the same location for over five generations. Guido Bitossi's four sons worked with Aldo Londi to mastermind the greatness of Bitossi design. And Londi, in turn, brought on Ettore Sottsass to redefine ceramics and sculpture for the home.
The tour was mind blowing and I was caught off guard when I actually got teary-eyed turning the corner into the museum. The amount of beautiful work in view was astounding and it was hard for me to process it all. I feel silly remembering those tears but it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. If you plan on going to Tuscany, make your reservation now!
