A BIG THANK YOU to a few local movers and shakers that have been working closely with creators and sharing their vision.

FIRST UP is The Radder (Sherise Lee).

She has launched an online shop and I’m so excited to have my “x o” cup as one of the exclusives sold, just in time for Valentine’s. And don’t miss out on Melanie Abrantes’s (check out my last blog post) wood turned vases… they are beauties! Head on over to The Radder’s site for more artist exclusives, studio stories and rad collaborations. In addition to supporting other creators, she is a serial hobbyist herself, an illustrator/graphic designer, stained glass artist and mom to two little boys. Her website offers a plethora of inspiration.

NEXT UP is the co-Lab gallery! They just made the jump from Koreatown to Highland Park and are getting ready for their grand opening group show, co-Lab 2.0 Launch Show on Feb 21st. And if you are looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day, they will be having a soft opening to be a part of the NELA Art Walk.

In addition to curating art shows, they also offer a great selection of goods! You’ll find jen e ceramics amongst other locally crafted merchandise like these fantastic bird busts by Elliot Jackson.

AND A BIG THANKS to Family Store! If you ever find yourself in Long Beach, Family Store is a must see for housewares and kids goods. Mel, the owner, has put together an amazing space “built around the fundamentals of caring & sharing.” She claims: “supporting local crafts & trade is the foundation for the store.” Not only does Family Store offer goods but it also hosts workshops and different events. Don’t miss their Valentine Family Party on Feb 14th, 2-7pm!

It’s definitely a feel good space but if you can’t make it to the storefront, you can always visit her online shop. She carries a few jen e ceramics pieces alongside one of my favorite lines, juniper & fir, and the cutest baby/kids clothes, ever. If you stop by, tell Mel I say HI!
