Make your wishes come true! Tanzaku, traditionally hung from bamboo, are seen throughout Japan during Tanabata also known as the Star Festival. It is the one day of the year that two-star crossed lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi, are able to meet up.
Traditionally five colors (blue, yellow, red, black and white) are used for the Tanzaku and it is said that these five colors have the power to keep away evil spirits and bad luck. Write down your wish on the paper provided, hang the Tanzaku up and hopefully your wish will come true.
This Tanzaku is ceramic and hand painted and the beads are hand painted and carved as well. Jute string. Measures approximately 12.5" tall and 1.5" wide. You can use a dry erase marker to write your wish on the ceramic "paper" on the bottom. Since it is glazed, it can be wiped off.
