Cheers to three awesome women, who are not only super nice and warm, but make beautiful objects. They each put a lot of care, time, energy and creativity into their wares. I have personally bought pieces from each of them and can attest to their work. They rock!

I met Alyson at a ceramics studio in Eagle Rock years ago and we have stayed friends since. She used to make little footed pots that reminded me of little old ladies carrying bundles on their backs to the market. I loved them so. I’m so happy to see that she is making sculptures again (above) along with her mesmerizing ceramic jewelry.

Blue has always been my favorite color. Falling in love with shibori was so natural. I met Maya of juniper & fir at eastside handmade a couple of years ago when I bought one of her wall hangings. I became a fan of her work instantly. A few months later I bought one of her shibori pillows and then soon after that I approached her with a collaboration idea. We’ve been working on pieces together ever since.

I discovered Akiko‘s work at Renegade LA and bought a hanging planter for a good friend. Afterwards, I kept thinking, I should have bought another one for myself! Lesson learned. Recently, Akiko contacted me about buying one of my pieces. Such a fun coincidence. I love when there’s a genuine appreciation between myself and other makers. Her energy is so positive and contagious…her work, bright and fun!
